Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Labor, revealed that today the Cabinet resolved to approve the extension of the period for renewing work permits for foreigners, in accordance with the Cabinet resolution on September 24, 2024, as proposed by the Ministry of Labor, in 2 issues: granting an exemption to Cambodian and Myanmar workers whose employers have submitted a list of foreign worker hiring requirements by February 13, 2025, to temporarily stay in the Kingdom and be permitted to work for 6 months between February 14 and August 13, 2025, so that employers can submit a request for a work permit on behalf of foreigners (Bor Tor 33) along with documents and evidence and pay the permit fee. And check the visa to stay and work in the Kingdom temporarily until February 13, 2027 and can be renewed for another 2 years, along with an extension for Lao and Vietnamese workers who have been granted work permits according to the Cabinet resolution until February 13, 2025 to stay in the Kingdom temporarily for 3 months between February 14, 2025 - May 13, 2025, so that employers can submit a list of foreign workers' needs, apply for a work permit on behalf of foreigners, along with supporting documents as specified in the application form (Bor Tor 33), pay the work permit fee, and check the visa to stay and work in the Kingdom temporarily until February 13, 2026.

Mr. Somchai Morakotsriwan, Director-General of the Department of Employment, said that the Cabinet approved in principle 2 draft announcements from the Ministry of Labor, including 2 draft announcements from the Ministry of Interior, totaling 4 announcements. The aforementioned group of workers will receive an extension when the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labor announcements come into effect.
